A while ago I got a “fun” second job teaching barre. To be clear, I am ok with the idea of even a fun job still being a job. I was prepared to teach certain days but my boundaries stopped being respected rather quickly.
These guys wanted me to work 6+ hours a week unpaid my coworkers just said “ok”. Anyone who ever took issue with their crappy scheduling, or the excessive requests, got shamed. Idk if this is common in the fitness industry but I really cannot tolerate it.
I feel really sad because there are a lot of people I will miss. I could not be honest about the reasons I wanted to quit (did NOT feel like a bunch of texting with these stupid managers) but overall I’m happy with my choice.
