Boss offered my a promotion right before I put in my notice.

My Store manager (and close friend) just put in his 2 week notice. I am the assistant manager, next in line to take over. I was offered a job as a teacher and am just waiting for the background to clear. My District Manager came in and offered me the position. She took over our district recently and has been a nightmare. She treats us all like children and not highly paid, highly trained managers. We run a multi million dollar retail store for a fairly large company. Her visit was to offer me the position and prep me for the interview with the regional who conducts store manager promotion interviews. We run a multi million dollar retail store for a fairly large company. Her visit was to offer me the position and prep me for the interview with the regional who conducts store manager promotion interviews. Multiple complaints have been made by store managers to the point where the regional did a surprise visit to the district while the DM was on vacation to see how we felt about her without her influence. I didn’t tell her that I was also leaving. She wanted to quickly offer me the position so she can go to him and tell him not to worry because I am ready to take over and it will be a smooth transition. Little does she know I’m quitting soon too. I figured she can go to her boss and build me up and tell him how on board I am and then I’ll quit shortly after. It will show him that she has no clue what is going on in her district and has no handle on what her managers are going through. Normally I wouldn’t act this way but we just opening this new store a month ago and I asked to DISCUSS a pay increase and was told no because it’s a lateral transfer. Wouldn’t even discuss it even though opening a new store is 3 times the normal work with a staff that is brand new. She wouldn’t think how much it screws me over to fire me, so I’m not gonna give it a second thought to how much it screws her to quit right after being offered a promotion.
