Anyone elses job get weird over time off requests? (asking for support)

First months ago I was told that when asking for time off to look at our shared calendar and see if anyone else already had time off and plan accordingly. Some background…i started this job last year in July so when Thanksgiving came around I didnt ask for time off because I was new…so I ended up spending the holidays all alone. Now im still here and Thanksgiving is coming around again. I told my daughter I would take her to Universal Studios on Thanksgiving because she has been begging to go somewhere for awhile…remember last year I spent the holdays without her. So i checked the calendar and made sure no one else had the day off and asked for ONE day…Nov. 23rd I get a reply that I have to now wait for some sort of mass email that will be sent to the team – basically they…

I get a reply that I have to now wait for some sort of mass email that will be sent to the team – basically they will ask us all to request time off together. To me that just reeks of they will pick and choose who gets time off based on how much they like whoever doesnt want to come in! Also seniority as well.

Now im upset because im looking at the possibility of another Thanksgiving all alone. (And i had to buy a Thanksgiving meal from a fastfood place last year and it SUCKED.)

Its a great job and all but i didnt sign up to have all my holidays RUINED.

And i feel like September is more than enough advanced noticed.

I dont care what they decide. I will not be here Nov. 23rd.

My question is if I get fired or my contract isnt renewed because of it, can I sue?
