I currently have a family member that is passing from cancer. I’ve been in contact with my boss through the entire final stages so they are well aware of what’s going on. This morning I emailed I would be out because my family member is on hospice and is expected to go within the next 48 hours.
During a meeting with the hospice staff for an update I get a text stating that I no call/no showed today and is everything alright. First off all I did tell you second off all you are completely aware what is going on and how dare you ask me like that.
I calmly told them that I did email and they proceeded to start asking me about work stuff. What part of actively dying, hospice bedside vigil do you not understand. I replied twice but the questions continued and I just stopped responding.
I had been considering leaving for a couple of months but that sealed the deal. I’m out, I’m walking, figure it out on your own.
