Companies will pay as little as they legally can. Just look at western companies operating in developing countries.

Here in China, McDonald's pays their staff around $570 a month. This is despite the burgers being just as expensive as they are in western countries. I know people who work in Kempinski hotel (a German company) and they make around $18 a day. It's still an expensive 5 star hotel. Germany has loads of employment rights that a German company just doesn't follow here in China. That just proves that companies only provide for workers when they are forced to. Both companies are pocketing massive profits here in China, way higher than that are in the west. Due to lower cost of operation but the product costing the same. How is this not low-key racist?
