Career Advice – Seeking Fulfillment Outside of Work

I’ve burnt out. I’ve lost who I used to be and have realized that I want to spend my energy and soul outside of a job; volunteering, loving my family, riding my bike, anything else. I want to find a job that serves a good purpose that I can punch in and punch out and I won’t take “home” with me mentally. I graduated from undergrad a decade ago, worked retail; problem solved and fixed things and worked myself into stress to solve all the issues the store had. I got my teaching credential and a job, teaching kicked my ass, go thank a teacher, they’re all incredible. Picked up a role as an entry level engineering CAD tech and worked hard into a management position in a completely different team leading a small team on a big project at the company and worked that so hard I sent myself…

Can’t sleep, can’t stop thinking about my job that doesn’t need to be as stressful as it is. I work late when I don’t need to. People are confrontational for no reason, overworked and upper management doesn’t seem to want to make things better. I’m tired and angry and don’t know how to stop.

I keep racking my brain and job postings to find a “better” job to build on the work I’ve done to grow in my current field. But I don’t feel like I want to chase that any more.

I know the job I think I’m looking for is going to pay less, have less flexibility, etc. But that’s okay. I’m going to spend my energy doing good/having fun else where.

Does it even exist? Weekdays only, decent PTO (or even not 40 hrs/week required), light/medium physical labor is ok, part-time sure why not.

Alright, hit me.

Tl;dr Looking for job suggestions, burnt out, want to spend my energy and find fulfillment in life outside of work.
