I feel completely stuck, sick, and unhappy in my current job

Im 50M working for a very large corporation that has slowly become very toxic at the systemic level. All the managers, including my own as of last month, have been replaced with passive, manipulative, two-faced people. I don't need to go into details but in short, it's become so bad that I have insomnia, nightmares, and feel physically un-well everyday. And of course HR does nothing to help. Unfortunately, this industry has contracted steadily, so all the good jobs for competitors are gone. And my skill set is highly specialized so transferring it to another subject is nearly impossible. I have a good financial situation but the challenge is that I'm locked into a home. They pay me $120k/yr but I have a mortgage for a $500,000 home.

With inflation, my prudent reserve has shrunk to $5,000. I have ~$225,000 in my 401k plan and if I sold my home, another ~$200k in the bank, so $425,000 total, after fees/taxes, whatnot.

I know the next best step is to completely re-tool a new career and that would require first selling my home. I just don't have the energy to do either, so I continue to show up to my current job and do the best job I can. My only hope is that they lay me off so I can use severance and unemployment to recuperate and breath. Not sure what else to say or why I posted this, just felt like asking for help I suppose.
