My husband is a massage therapist. We live in MA. Today he was told by his boss that even if he isn’t booked for clients he has to come in. He is not paid for any hour not booked. This came up because he had his scheduled blocked last night for the first half since there was no one.
The assistant manager told him he is expected to be there all six hours he is scheduled. My husband asked him to confirm this was without pay and the assistant manager told him that was true. He also does not get paid for the time he spends disinfecting the room between clients or while completing his documentation. Being a massage therapist sucks.
