At FedEx we are worked like dogs. Union talk has happened in the past but is quickly shut down by executives. I believe that majority of my coworkers are on the bandwagon but fear getting fired.
We are so short staffed it is ridiculous. Each night we all do the workload of what should be done by several people. Management is always pushing us to limits just so we don’t get a break as to cost cut. Managers get incentive to get the workload done fast and to get us off the clock. People are bitter and angry. The atmosphere is depressing.
How do I go about getting people together safely? How does one form a union? I’m so ignorant on this whole process. I don’t want anyone to lose their job as well as I lose mine.
I have considered flyer distribution in the parking lot by a third party with no FedEx connection. I have considered online means like Reddit with the bit of anonymity it gives us. Yet I can’t come up with ideas?
If UPS shuts down the supply chain on their end, the workload will obviously shift to us. If we refuse we have the upper hand. We are so short staffed I am sure they could not find scabs. We can’t even keep new hires for more than a week.
Can someone please help me with ideas?
