Positive work place finally found on Tribals land! Support local tribes!

I am a caregivier and if anyone knows how much we are over worked and severely underpaid for the work we do. I enjoy caring for elders and being in the medical field…but I have worked for companies where they tried to control my hours and have Karens try to belittle me for standing up for my self anyways…I'm native American registered in a tribe in Washington state…I have applied for elder care in a local tribe where they pay me $28 an hour and pay me a dollar more for having extra certifications. Match 401k and great medical and dental. I feel welcomed and have never felt afraid for being a person of color. Even the work is still hard and work long hours I'm compensated for over time and given compensate time which my sick leave or accumulated vacation time won't be affected if I decide to use…

I have feel care for my people and I'm finally excited to be able to do what I love and have a respectable pay for the work I do. Support local tribes for they care for the people and pay their workers more then fairly. A lot of non tribal workers have told me how happy they are to be working for this local tribe. May indigenous people continue healing and growing in success…and we will take everyone with us! Here's to healing!!! Thank you for reading Hoyt Ciem Member of the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe
