“If you work at an unskilled job, you’re a loser and it’s your fault you can’t make it on minimum wage”

So then why does society seem to grind to a halt if these “losers” stop performing these jobs? For example, if everyone at restaurants, stores, hotels, airports, etc. just got up and left to “find better work” people would completely lose their minds.
