PII shared at work

Last night I discovered what should be a HR only accessible file on all of the machines in my department. Further investigations led to knowing they cannot be seen from the office under my log in information or 2 of the bosses (Group Leaders) either. The listing of information includes, addresses, dob, phone numbers, crew, rotation (schedule), and whether or not if they are in the union. I informed my union steward and group leader immediately. Upon arrival to work tonight the steward disclosed to me that the union had no issues with such information being available. Although they are not accessible to anyone other than on 5 machines in my department on the cell controllers linked to the company webshare site.

The excuse of the ergonomics union rep was that more sensitive information used to ve often disclosed. He is referring to when he was working on the floor in the 90s.

My group leader sent emails to HR and IT. Both of which didn't respond today.

Our local USW 1147 is trash, the entire USW is corrupt. Only the international president can determine if we go on strike.

This year we had contract negotiations. We had a 93% strike authorization vote from our union members. Our local president was removed from negotiations. We were served a contract that catered to new hires(45% of the employees) add on a $2500 sign on and it barely passed.
