I am a software developer with over 2 decades of experience in java, scala, databases and AWS. I have worked in FANG and MNC companies in the bay area and I am financially pretty secure. I don't want to do the 60 hr/week with a high base salary and stock compensation in the bay area but at the same time I don't want to leave the industry completely either. My preferences would be:
- Find a job where I can work remotely and finish a project like complete development of an app within a fixed time. I don't want to be at a desk at a specific time but would like to work whenever I want.
- If not work for 4 hrs/day or so.
I know there are several contractors that work on long term projects with nothing to do whole day except bill their clients. I don't want a job like that but would prefer to complete a project fast, get paid and get out of there. Any idea how I can find jobs like that. Should I even talk to recruiters about the above requirements. How do I search in job boards for jobs like this. Is it called flex jobs?
