every single big thread i click on here has a number of people speaking assuredly about employment law, and there are no two posts that are in complete agreement. you get people saying, “that's ilegal, you must save all documents and take them to court immediately!!” and other people saying, “ofc that's not illegal are you dumb? that's just the way things are and you need to accept it.”
it would be very good if we had a stickied resource outlining exactly what is and is not legal, what varies by state, etc. from my perspective it just seems like a lot of pseudo-law is spat out by anyone, which does nothing but harm the cause as spread of misinformation does.
i'm not a lawyer, so i'm sure as shit not gonna pretend to be one on the internet. has the mod team considered contacting actual employment lawyers, and working to create a legitimate FAQ-like resource? this would do so much good.
