Near brand new job has under-delivered at every step of the process, so I’m quitting on my 9th day with them.

(Australia for context and currency) In the interview process they said the job would be paying $29AUD on weekdays and $34 on weekends but it would be a casual contract, sounded pretty good. They offer me the job and ask if I would like to be full time Monday to friday instead of casual, I say yes, but when they send me the contract it is for $25. Quite low by Australian standards. I accept anyway because I just moved to this country and really needed any paycheck I could get as soon as I could. Next week they have me rostered on a Saturday, not what I signed up for, I took a pay cut not to work weekends and I won't be getting paid extra. The following week we have a public holiday, we get 2x pay for working holidays. Rather than let us make extra money that…

There are tens of thousands of job vacancies in Melbourne, it took me three days to apply, interview and accept a different job that pays $30 and actually is full time with no weekends. How could a business possibly think that they're going to keep new staff when they aren't going to even try to compete with other opportunities like that. I'm not the only new hire to quit either. Let this be a lesson to them and their shitty employment practices.

Rant over.
