What do you do with lots of downtime at work when you have to be on premises?
I got into a new field after leaving one that is notorious for employees being underpaid, over worked, having 0 breaks and insane staffing shortages.
My new job is in a covid lab and now since things have slowed I have 4-5 hours a night where we have nothing to do, we're allowed to play on our phones, go in the breakroom and play uno or whatever, really.
What do I do with this time? I never thought I'd have the problem where I'm bored at work but I really don't know what to do. Others have brought in laptops and literally game with their downtime.
I've considered the idea of remote work but what is there available out there? I don't have guranteed nothing to do and we're mainly free in the middle of the night (I work graveyard).
