New bosses are great

So, here is a bit of context. I work at a hotel, and I have worked here for 4 years. I also lived here. ALL of my pay went towards my room, I door dashed to pay for my other expenses that weren't rent. It was that or be homeless again, so I didn't argue. 2 months ago, I moved out. New bosses took over 1 month ago… which ties into this current situation. Them taking over lost us 4 employees, 3 front desk and 1 housekeeper. One of the remaining housekeepers was pushed into the desk instead, which brought us to -2 at the desk and -2 for housekeeping. I was tasked with training her, which meant me coming in early/staying late in order to spend an hour or two with her during her shifts. The new owners also…haven't bothered with scheduling. Or hiring new people. Or restocking the office, or the breakfast items, or getting us change. The cash drawer has been 20's and dimes for 3 days now.

Did I forget to mention they are only paying desk $13 an hour? I am at work as I make this post, I was at 56 hours. Covering part of this shift on my day off brings me to 60. Enter my text before I came in:

Offering to take on MORE shit, for the same pay my job gets elsewhere.

No shade to the Mcdonks across the street, but it's a little fucked that I'm making as much as you only AFTER I'm past 40 hours.

When I came in at 7, she went off on me about how I am being unreasonable, and that a raise is 5% per year (I am making like 40 cents more than minimum wage in my state). Said that I am asking for a GM salary, and specified that she meant a GM at a larger chain… bet. Took 2 minutes on indeed to find my exact job at nearby hotels. I sent it to her.

lmfao…you aren't even going to TRY to compete? My remaining coworkers asked me to spearhead this, and we are ALL ready to walk out.

No, I am not going to take on the responsibilities of covering more shifts anymore. I am not going to volunteer my time to train new people. I am not going to fix their mistakes, or the owners mistakes. I am one of 2 people ABLE to train people for this position, the new owners have declined to sit down and have me teach them.

Sure, you can replace me. I'm not unique. But you are going to be in deep shit for a few weeks if I leave right now.

Be an asshole when you can afford to lose me.

Anyone hiring in Colorado?
