A friend who is a server had $923 gratuity taken because it was “too much”

My waitress friend worked super bowl Sunday and made $923 in auto-gratuity tips from working the event. The $923 was supposed to be split between servers and bartenders. The whole amount was taken by her manager because it was “too much money”. She quit and found a new job but how can there ever be too much money for a server?? They pay them below minimum wage and then deny tips. I told her to report them to the department of labor for wage theft. It still makes me so angry though. 3 guys bar and pizza in Edwardsville Pennsylvania.
