I do barely above the bare minimum at work because im not compensated to work harder

And i dont feel bad about it at all. I will actually say I have a great deal of respect for my job. They have a great time off benefit, work from home, and you are encouraged to use your attendance points because “thats what they are there for” What really kills me is in my role I have to make “X” amount of calls an hour and that is “meeting expectations” which has been determined to be profitable for the company. What really kills me is in my role I have to make “X” amount of calls an hour and that is “meeting expectations” which has been determined to be profitable for the company. But you are considered a high performer if you go above that, to the tune of basically working 2x or 3x as hard, non-stop, all day.

Why would I fucking kill myself every day to make the company 3x as much money a day, while I myself see NO difference in the value of my labor. If I do that I am effectively cutting the value of my labor, and in essence being paid less.

So I do just above the bare minimum so HR doesn’t say “what the fuck” because I don’t feel I’m adequately compensated for the trade off of burning the candle both ways.

Thanks for listening guys. I really needed to vent my frustration. I can’t save any fucking money, im one huge bill away from living in a car so no, im not working twice as hard for 0 compensation
