So, let me just give a quick summary. I work at an Animal Hospital in New York State. Ive been working as a Kennel worker for 6-7 months, and Im told by management that I get absolutely no time off options. A new policy is being put in, where we are forced to clock out (the system does it automatically), however being a Kennel worker means you have to take boarding dogs even while clocked out, essentially working for free. Another thing is, we are encouraged to work with Covid, while handling medical animals, no paid time off is offered and i cant take off due to being udnerstaffed in kennel, thus putting animals at risk of covid-19. Is there any way around this?? This cant be ethical?? Kennel workers often cant afford to take breaks due to the neverending work load, and now theyre forcing us to. I need advice! Please help.
