Need some morale support here…

Long story short, I sent my resignation end of August for beginning of October. My contract says that I have a two months notice, therefore I was supposed ti leave end of October. Because of that, my company Is keeping 3 weeks worth of salary as a fee. And by itself It could be a simple story, end of it. I hard a word with my manager beginning of August regarding my resignation; I took his words for trust regarding the fact that there would have not be no consequences, and I waited for him to tell me a good day to leave (at the end of the day, I was sorry to leave the team, it was a good one and the job was complex). I know, I know… I was a fool by trusting a manager and not my guts, having the possibility to do everything by manual and leave with my salary intact. Now I'm becoming even more paranoid that the colleagues that I told about my resignation and my job search started manipulating me into feeling guilty in order to follow my manager indications.

Of course, nothing of this written, no! Just verbal agreement between “gentlemen”.

I'm feeling angry, betrayed, powerless, depressed… Really need some word of encouragement that after all, I only tried to be correct…
