I'm on a team with my boss and 5 direct reports. He's best friends with 2 of the people under him. Every year they get the biggest raises and bonuses. I'm at the same level as the 2 friends and the other 2 on the team are less experienced. I feel my salary is fair for the work I do, but is currently about 20% lower than the 2 friends. The friends actually make more than my boss (just barely). We work for a large, public, non-profit that is tax funded. My boss and the friends are all male and the rest are female. I'm conflicted on how to feel. If I didn't know anyone's salary or benefits I would be content with my salary, but I have a hard time when I do the same job, but they continue to get more and more money. My performance has always been exceptional. I was actually recruited from another department based on my work product and high praise from my customers.
