I was injured outside of work. It’s pretty severe. The doctor has given me a note that says desk duty only. When I came in they said they are sending me home and removing me from the schedule because they don’t offer light duty or desk work (there is a desk work position. They refused to interview me for it before).
I don’t know what to do. No workers comp because it didn’t happen at work. No paid medical leave. I’m still on my parents insurance so I didn’t use theirs, therefore I think that disqualifies me from short term disability. I’m employed full time, it’ll be a year oct 1st at this job.
I’m not allowed to be on my leg, they don’t know if I need surgery yet. It could get worse.
I really hate how this country is against workers. I’m a hard worker, been holding down a job since I was legally able to. Worked the entire pandemic. Now I’m injured and need help financially and i don’t think I can get it. Im only 23.
