Recently I asked my work to switch to part time. After months, they finally approved it and called me in to talk about benefits. I am switching from 5 7.5hr days to 4 7.5 hour days (37.5 hrs/wk to 30 hrs/wk). All of my benefits are being taken away including 401k match. They are paying out my accrued vacation time as I will no longer be earning any as a part time employee. However, according to the Illinois ACA, 30 hours still qualifies as full time. What are my next steps? What do I say to HR? Am I entitled to my benefits still?
