Consequences of unintentionally crossing a picket line?

I have a friend who works as a logistic transportation supply chain analyst for a freight company. Basically, he helps determine where truckers need to drive to and when. Looks like truckers on another state have gone on strike, and he was asked to fly there to assist scab truckers coming in from other states. He’s not literally replacing the striking truckers, but he is assisting the scab truckers, so this is still crossing the picket line imo. Correct me if I’m wrong. He is more or less totally ignorant on labor rights, unions, strikes, picket lines, etc. So he just considered it as any other job duty. It didn’t initially occur to him that he’s undermining the strike/union. I’ve heard that people who cross picket lines picket lines are usually blacklisted from joining unions in the future or reaping the gains they achieve. Is this actually true? And are…

And are exceptions made for those who frankly ignorant of what they are doing? I personally think this could be a valuable learning experience for him.
