Wage decline in my industry.

So I was made redundant from my job approximately 3 months ago as a project manager/implementation specialist. The money in this industry is ok (relatively speaking that is) or so I thought. After paying rent, bills, food etc. I still didn’t have enough left over to save for a mortgage deposit. Go figure. I’ve been applying like crazy for work, mainly because I simply need to. Ive got bills to pay, I’m going into debt and I’m not afraid to say due to the stress of all the letters piling up my mental health is not in a good state. I’ve made 102 applications (I’ve counted) and I’ve received 6 responses back. My CV (resume) is really good, I’ve had it checked over by several people it’s all good. From this application experience I’ve noticed one thing more than anything else, the wage decline. Not just by a little I’m talking right across the board large amounts. Cost of living has gone through the roof, especially in the UK and these jobs are now up to £20K less than what they were. I’ve worked it all out and I can’t afford to live on my own anymore. How the hell are people expected to live and save when this is happening? It’s also worth bearing in mind my previous companies CEO bumped his salary up 20% but laid off 30% of the entire workforce. They then went on to hire the 30% workforce deficit by offering other people lower wages. I’m not going mad right? Companies are shitting on people even more now? Is this happening for all jobs? I’m new to this thread and was recommend it by a friend. I’m just looking for some help with my own sanity.
