Trickle down disrespect

I was thinking that Part-time (20-30 hrs/wk) people at my job are second class citizens. We are expected to attend all department meetings, do extra work for large projects as a team member, but are not invited to department social events or retreats. This is a non profit so a good percentage is part time or contract. Nonprofits deliberately keep people part time to save money. This is just “work culture.” Guys on top yell at everyone and make an obscene salary. Middle management worships them and make roughly 1/2 to 1/3 of their salaries. They lord over staff who make the equivalent of minimum wage. They feel unappreciated and belittled so they take it out on part time staff. Toxicity flows from top to bottom.
