I was hired to work, the manager was very unorganized, btw.
I worked from like for 4 am – 11 am . I wasn’t given any employee number, this is used to clock in & clock out as well as to look at your employment record (things I’ve learned AFTER quitting the job). I only worked the ONE shift . I couldn’t walk after my shift (in the bakery). I worked 01/19/2019 & everyone I’ve spoken to since 2020 when I realized I was never sent a check has told me the same thing first it’s “we will look into it” then it becomes “can’t do anything you were never clocked in” .
When I started I wasn’t given an employee ID . I wasn’t given a tour of the store (until my first?day). I didn’t know I needed a number to clock in/out . On a machine . In the break room . I sent countless emails & made countless phone calls to corporate/HR whatever . & no one can do anything . WTF .
Also, I did try to file a claim with the labor board & guess what ?! It never went through ! & there is a statute for wage claims that’s valid up to 3 years . Which I’m way past ! No attorneys will take my case either . Because of that statute !! Can I do anything else ???
I KNOW that not a single one of the people I’ve spoken to from that company would work for free but they expect me to ? Also, I can & do plan to request Waiting Time Penalties .
