Was my boyfriend wrongfully terminated? (Texas)

My boyfriend worked for a commercial electrician company and did an out of town job for about 2 weeks at a company that held a lot of money. (Do not feel comfortable stating the companies name but it is not a bank.) His project manager was a problem the entire time, constantly complaining and brought the mood down as a whole. Anywho, one circumstance the PM basically threatened my boyfriend and his coworker by saying “if i catch y’all doing that” then proceeded to bring out his pocket knife and open it, exposing the blade. They were in the car so there was no physical contact. In another circumstance, he threatened that he was going to go to academy and buy a gun, named the specific kind too and said “I’ll be sure to get that just so it hurts but doesn’t kill you.” He also drove very unsafe and was on his phone texting and driving (this is the proof my boyfriend has, as he took pictures and videos.) I told my boyfriend to escalate this issue as he is making threats and putting them in harms way. He did escalate the problem with the company and it set a flame in the PM. The PM tried reporting that my boyfriend was “digging through drawers looking for money” at the company they were working at. Now mind you, they have security EVERYWHERE at this company and they require for someone to be with the workers at all times. Rightfully so. But you would think that they (the company) would have said something or fired him on the spot if this were true. My boyfriend defended himself and told them to pull camera footage because he knew this was not true. He got a call today stating that he is no longer employed (A WEEK AFTER HE GETS BACK HOME) because they have “witnesses” but did not pull any camera footage or possess any other form of proof. He was promised for this past week that everything was good and was already assigned to another job. I just think it’s funny how when he reports a complaint about a project manager he’s suddenly let go. I told him he should have fought that more than what he did but I need to know if this is worth taking to court. I do not feel as though they did enough research to see who was actually at fault here.
