Title says it all, but I'm still curious of how I should approach this. For I work in corrections and I know we have to have people at the facility at all times. But this request was put in 3 months in advance and they waited till last minute to deny it. Now in our SOP it states we have to at least put in a request 3-2 weeks in advance for time off and the supervisor has 5 days to respond AFTER the request was made. So if I'm not able to find coverage in the next couple of days how should I approach this situation?
