The place I like in is experiencing a teacher shortage just like much of the USA. I applied to a counselor position at a local nonprofit serving middle and high schooler students. And the hiring manager email me stating that they see I applied for their teacher position and would like to schedule an interview. Seems kind of sus. And when I didn’t respond they send a link of the counselor position applied for and referred to it as the counselor position,and ask to schedule an interview. Honest mistake? Maybe, but he seems to know what I applied for and did not correct himself. Instead try to gloss over the fact that he wants me to interview for the teacher’s position. seems like they were trying to trick me into interviewing for the teachers position.
Some of these companies, including nonprofits will use every trick up their sleeves to reach their goals, even if their company motto preaches kindness and compassion it is not guaranteed that they treat their employees with kindness and compassion. Vet ruthlessly and act your worth do not get trick into positions you did not sign up for.
