Well fellow antiworkers as promised here is an update. My official offer for new job came through this morning.
It’s pretty anticlimactic so this is going to be short and sweet.
I came in with my new offer, typed up my resignation letter (2 weeks) printed it and gave it to my boss. They COMPLETELY understood why and graciously accepted it. They said they had a feeling because I was pushing everyone to learn my job the past several weeks.
However I did not expect what happened next. HR came down to my office they said we are sorry to see you go and hate losing you. They asked me to stay on for a year as a consultant with $500 a month just to be available to them, and when needed they’ll pay me $50/hr to work on other items and make sure people are trained right.
I accepted this, but told them I couldn’t connect in between 9-5 (new job hours) but they can text me and I’ll try to help via text if I can (if I’m texted I get paid an hour for the texts).
So that’s it. Got new job and basically a “free” $500 a month.
