I don't know how many people might play the ever-enduring, somewhat kiddy-ish MMORPG “Wizard101.” If you don't know what it is, just think of a Harry Potter themed World of Warcraft, and you'll get the idea.
Well, right now all of the game servers are shut DOWN, and this was apparently forced by the very vocal and public online fireworks of one quitting employee. There are some players who were booted offline when the meltdown was happening, and they're posting on the subreddit about it:

“kings isle is the worst company i have ever worked for”
Apparently, there was also one that I can't find a screenshot for in which players were instructed to “e-mail support and say give me a raise.” This mystery person also may have been messing around with prices in what's SUPPOSED to be the real-life money “Premium Currency” shop in the game. Someone earlier today allegedly made things available for in-game gold, stuff that isn't supposed to be.
Current working theories are a disgruntled developer, or possibly a script kiddy. Either way — highly entertaining.
If it's truly someone flipping the bird to their employer, kudos on the balls — they had an audience of thousands for a couple of hours! That said, I hope they're making sure that they're not legally liable for anything. Having worked for a couple of dot-coms, I know that messing with an Internet company's availability for even a few minutes has a pretty big impact to their bottom line. The money pipeline is supposed to be a never-ending flood, 24/7.
