My coworker was fired because she asked to be paid a living wage and stood up for herself. She was fired one week before her six month mark, aka the point she could file for unemployment. Which I don’t even know if she could since we never filed out a W4, even though we asked about it a few times and were brushed off. They do take taxes out, I know this. I don’t know what the next step is other then finding a new job. I want to contact the IRS and have them investigated or SOMETHING. They are constantly firing people that don’t make them thousands a week and pay most people $15hr…. In NYC. This can’t be legal, or at least ethical. Right? The latter for sure. Any advice on taking this corrupted company down?
