Has anyone applied for a job that they were under qualified for? If so, what happened?

Saw a similar post on r/AskWomen and people were saying that employers are really looking for people who are willing to learn and gain experience instead of being qualified enough and think that you will be bored of your position. Is it true? Cause I’m thinking of job hopping to a managerial position lol
