I got accused of being a communist for voicing support towards the railroad workers union this week…

Like what the fuck..? It really makes me sad the grip that propaganda has on american workers. this came from a guy I know that works sun up to sun down construction jobs with little to no support for the employees. He sent me a link in reference to the predicted upcoming food shortages due to the strike, in which i replied along the lines of “dang, i’ll make sure I have some food stocked up.. but good for them though.” Literally all I said.. He acted shocked and offended that Id even think such a thing and smartly replies, “unions are inherently communist…” What the actual fuck lmfao. I guess he’d happily be on call 24 hours a day 6 days a week with 12+ hour days if it meant more money in his companies pocket. Sometimes i come to this sub and have hope for the future of…

Sometimes i come to this sub and have hope for the future of our work environment, but then when I try to talk to IRL coworkers or friends, I realize i’m speaking to people that honestly think I’m a Soviet era insider trying to take their rights or some shit. how does propaganda have such a strong hold on this country?!
