Can an employer see how long you worked at a franchise in a different state?

For context, I like to lie on my resume, it has never been a problem until maybe now. I worked at a chain gym for about 8 months back in 2019 and left abruptly (no two weeks) due to problems with the management. (I got in trouble because they had scheduled me at two different locations at the same time, and miraculously I could only show up to one store). It was a franchise and I have no idea if they put me in as “re-hireable” or not, if they even do that. I moved to a different state just recently and I now am curious about applying part time to the gym next to my new house, I’m just wondering if they’ll be able to go back and see my previous employment history in the other state and if I need to fix my resume before applying.
