I work at a spa for about 10 months and only got a warning about having my phone out in the hallway when I was just typing up notes for my client. I can't have my phone in the room (had by accident) or in the hallway to take notes while waiting for my client to come out because a customer complained to corporate about it because they didn't want to be recorded or known they were there? And now someone else got in trouble from a different spa (same company, different branch) that we can't have our ear buds in because the other person got in trouble for wearing their earbuds in the hall. I ONLY listen to reddit stories on YouTube (Rslash, Mark Narrations, Markee, Lost Genre, Reddit Brew, Storytime, Darkfluff, and sometimes Ripe) while cleaning/setting up my room. I go back and forth from the back where we have the sheets and towels (and our break room) and bring the stuff to my room and set up for my sessions. I'm just done with corporate siding with Karen's that should mind their business.
I'm just venting about it since this is the first time I heard about it today. I get about the phone issue but the earbuds? Unless you're on a phone call, listening to music or a podcast or YouTube should be fine when cleaning/setting up(just not on high volume). I'm gonna figure it out tho.
And fyi, it's only during scheduled breaks we can use them.
Also, I have coworkers who are mostly in their rooms with their phones to know when a client is in and to see their intakes and past notes. And maybe watch some shows while waiting for their next client.
And no I can't leave my phone in my locker since I use an app that has the program we use to see our schedule and client's info. And we only have one monitor that we can use to type in notes and look up future schedules during the week/month. We also have an iPad that we can bring into the room so I don't know what the difference is (I don't like using it tho).
