I did the “right” thing – went to college and graduate school in the hopes of getting a well-paying, fulfilling job in a “helper-type field”.
I am…completely burned out. Low pay, almost no reward, and a toxic environment are causing me to consider leaving the field completely after only 3 years.
The saddest part? I can make more money in a completely different field with 1/4 of the stress.
I'm currently having an existential crisis because I tied my self-worth to a career that I absolutely despise, and now I feel trapped.
