Opinion on the military?

I've been lurking on this sub for about a week and I enjoy the stories and drama that goes on here but I find that a lot of these problems that people face here wouldn't exist if they were in the military. Not to bash anyone's beliefs or career choices, we all walk our own path but I feel so bad when I read posts about people not getting enough hours, not enough pay, no benefits, having insane student loan debt etc. I was a manager at a McDonald's for 3 years and a manager at a Jamba Juice for 2 and even though I loved the people I worked with, I hated every second of those jobs. I was a manager at a McDonald's for 3 years and a manager at a Jamba Juice for 2 and even though I loved the people I worked with, I hated every second of those jobs. I despised putting on a happy face every day for asshole customers and work 8+ hours just to barely make $1000 a week. Things got so bad that eventually I decided that if I'm going to be overworked I might as well travel the world doing it, so I decided to enlist into the Marines. Fast forward 3 years later I'm working a “9-5”, I have way more personal time than I need, I go to college for free, have free healthcare/dental, and about to close on a house I purchased using a VA loan. Obviously some things about the military aren't perfect but I am 100% happier now than I was as a civilian. By no means am I advocating joining the military I just wanted to share some of my experience as someone who hated being a wage slave too.

TLDR; Would you ever join the military?
