I want to be a hard worker

I want to have a manager tell me what to do and I just do it. But I have, for as long as I can remember, suffered from a crippling case of Nihilism. I have always found a way to find everything pointless, and then there's no rush, and eventually it doesn't matter if it gets done at all. I want to work, and I want to be told what to do. I just need it to be an inherently valuable and necessary thing. But I am not a valuable or necessary person, and the world is too complicated for every job to have a tangible purpose, unfortunately.
