Was I correct for reporting my coworker’s comments/actions to my boss?

I (23F) work at a cafe with one coworker (56M). I’m the cashier and he’s the cook. My coworker is very rough around the edges and does not like to follow the rules. He’s honestly obnoxious and NEVER shuts up about politics, race, religion, women, etc. I decided to once and for all report his antics to my boss. She asked me to send her a list of examples. I sent this: Yelling in front of a group customers “This sandwich is for that Chinese guy” referring to an Asian customer. All the customers around were shocked Chatting with a customer and thought they might mutually know someone. Chatting with a customer and thought they might mutually know someone. Asked “Is she mulatto?” Laughed and said “Hey, that was fine to say back in the day.”

Telling me people from the Dominican Republic are dirty, disgusting, and have AIDS

Always swearing and specifically dropping f bombs to customers

Using bare hands to prepare and serve food after smoking and not washing hands

Young-ish customer innocently asked him if he has any plans for the weekend and he said “I’m gonna get an eight ball of cocaine and some naked girls and party” and customer became visibly uncomfortable

Constantly forgets to put food orders in. As a result serves food incorrectly. For example, he forgot to order brioche buns so he put BBQ chicken sandwiches on bagels

Telling me “Miley Cyrus is a f****** idiot for not believing in God.” when I prefer to not discuss religion at work, as we are not supposed to

Are these things slightly inappropriate for the workplace or am I overreacting? I often feel uncomfortable and have to apologize to customers on behalf of him. I already mentioned a couple of instances to my boss and she was shocked and agrees with me that he acts unprofessional.
