Need to leave a toxic workplace

I took a manger position right out of college and I have had a really hard time. I have not gotten along with my boss(she has a reputation). I met with HR and Site Lead to talk about my options yesterday. They both took my complaints seriously but prompted me to speak with my manager. As I am walking up to my manager she is openly bad mouthing me to HR while on the floor around associates. Not reporting me or anything just gossiping. At this point I do not think I want to be apart of this management team. I want to quit and not have to pay back the money they gave me for relocation. Can I use this gossiping incident as leverage to not pay back that money? Right after it happened I told my site lead and HR rep. I am in the process of reporting…

Can I use this gossiping incident as leverage to not pay back that money? Right after it happened I told my site lead and HR rep. I am in the process of reporting the incident. I am citing that the incident damages my reputation in the workplace because it was in earshot of associates and that it damages the credibility of Human Resources to help me because they were actively apart of the gossip. I talked to the Human Resources lady who was apart of the gossip afterwards and she asked if I was okay. To me that is her acknowledging the compromising position I was out in.
