So, I put in my 2 week notice last Monday. I have a salaried WFH desk job. On Thursday night, I had to put down my 17 year old kitty after he had a seizure. I called out the next morning because I couldn't function at all. I told my boss I would work on Saturday to make up the hours I missed. I had a lot to wrap up and didnt want to leave them in a bad spot. Plus, I can't use my vacation or sick time during my final 2 weeks. So, I didn't want to miss out on wages.
I felt like shit on Saturday, so decided to work Sunday instead.
The dept director just said that I have to take Friday as unpaid because “Sunday wasn't in the same week”.
Are you fucking serious???? I'm salaried and made up my hours within the same pay period! I just lost my fur baby and you're not going to pay me??? I'm so fucking furious!!!
Fuck you, director. This kind of shit is why I'm leaving.
