I know this is different than the usual flavor here, but I’m upset and need to vent.
I work food manufacturing. There’s a thing called Food Defense that became law in the last couple years. Says that all food and ingredients has to be locked up when not being monitored by employees. Remarkably inconvenient and leads to a lot of excess work but what can you do?
Apparently you can yell for five minutes at the person trying to explain it to you and asking that you just wait until employees are actually allowed in the area before unlocking shit. And then get mad because now your employees are five minutes late to getting into the area.
This person is only half a pay grade above me, not even that senior to me (and brand new to the facility). I swear the smallest piece of power makes people think they can treat you like shit just because you mildly inconvenienced them by doing your job. The one good news is so far my management has my back. We’ll have to hope it lasts.
