Honest question- should I try either of these two strategies?

I have been PIP’ed by my manager. Tbh he sucked and was absentee most of the time. He frequently talks poorly of the women on the team, and I even have it recorded in one of our meetings. (I’m mid 20’s Female as well). I’ve accepted the fact that I am leaving the company. But want to buy myself more time before I have a new job confirmed. Tomorrow I am running a half marathon. Would it benefit me in any way to use any injury I sustain under FMLA? Or, should I report my boss to HR for retaliation with the PIP? (For context, back in May I voiced several concerns about my boss to his boss, and I’ve always wondered if this Pip is in retaliation to that).
