My job decided to spring it upon us that we have an inventory that needs to happen and it will be taking up the entire week and including a Saturday. I just find it insanely shitty that we were all expected to be cool with working a saturday considering we NEVER work weekends, and ultimately was a reason why most of the dudes i work with chose this job. One of the dudes i work with had to tell his daughter he couldn’t make it to her soccer game.
On top of that i start school in october and i have an enrollment meeting this upcoming tuesday at 4:30 PM. My shift ends at 3:30. when i let my management know i needed to be out of the shop at 3:30 on the dot, i was told “It might not be a possibility, we have inventory and we may be working late all week.” My reply was “it’s non-negotiable. I i’ll need to be on the road by 3:30. i won’t take lunch.” I don’t think they liked that at all.
What can you expect, yanno? i guess i’ll just let my dreams die and the education i need to achieve them just fade into the abyss. Besides, my $18 an hour personalized hell hole of a “job” is so much better. Slaves till we die, killing ourselves for a job that wouldn’t even kill for us.
Anyways, i’ll have the #4 with a large coke.
