Antiwork

Don’t get punished (with more work) because you have more skills than your co-workers.

I’ve had many jobs, and I see this all the time. During the pandemic I got furloughed and had to deliver pizzas for Pizza Hut. We had a small shift meeting and the GM said that we all had to help out and answer phones. Well everyone except bob and Bobby, because they don’t speak English (same pay rate). When I was a waiter, people would request Sundays off since everyone was expected to work. They would take into consideration if you had kids, how far you lived and maybe if you went to church. If you find yourself doing more work, for the same pay, because you have better skills; speak up. Ask for a raise or tell them you can lower your standards to the same as your co-workers. Do y’all have any stories of being punished for being better?
