First time, got pulled into a meeting after a few other colleagues had theirs. No idea what the outcome or reason was for theirs obviously but it seems to indicate the same thing.
I got put into a Performance Improvement Process because my sales numbers aren’t hitting targets.
I’ve been here over 2 years (U.K) so I’m pretty safe.
I just told them straight:
“My observations have shown that I am following the correct attitudes set out in our policy and then I am asking all the right questions in the right way, if you want me to improve you are going to have take responsibility and show me how”.
We had a laugh and they said “my game was good” (the language I used in the meeting to show them I’m not a push over) but I know what this step really means. And I’m worried I haven’t protected myself enough already.
But, good luck getting rid of me without a fight. Even if I don’t hit my targets. I know it’s all about attitude.
Argh!
