I've been applying to data entry jobs through Indeed, Glassdoor, and Zip Recruiter. I'm hearing “wE hAVe a LabOR sHOrTagE” every day in the business press, but employers are still giving screenings (basically SAT, IQ test crap).
My Boomer dad is telling me to “go knock on doors” as if I haven't tried that for the past 10 years. It's not going to make them want you more. I've done it multiple times with Chipotle, and the lunch room is a shit-mess half the time when I eat there for lunch once a week. Like “dude, I've turned in my application to you MULTIPLE times and you still won't let me on?”
Boomers and boot licking dweebs of r/economy are convinced that you GET a job, that you just sign up for it like a volunteer sheet. It negates that employers choose whether you get to work or not, it's in the name- employER.
Is it possible that the Great Resignation is just a captial strike?
